Argument
For argument writers must choose a position, make a claim and support it with convincing evidence. Writers will use the Toulmin model as a means for understanding the critical components of making an argument: Data, Claim, Warrant. |
Synthesis
Synthesis requires the writer to take a position using the texts provided. This involves evaluating source material, choosing the most salient points for the writer's position and using them effectively. The writer will be requied to use a minimum of three sources and to cite them in the body of the text. |
